“The project would eliminate the low-water crossing, replacing it with a new structure accommodating two 9-foot lanes with 2-foot shoulders.” – At least the bridge will be ready for the future widening of our roads!
Horrible idea! That road is always passable except in periods of extremely high rain fall. People already drive fast enough through there I can hardly pull out of my driveway… With a clean shot across that crossing people will be driving through there at 40+ mph in no time. Its unsafe and not needed…. Rebuild the road on single tree instead!
Now let me get this straight.. [name redacted] wants us to drive all the way around, for instance from Cantel, to Conestoga, to Stagecoach, Horseshoe, to Hwy 4 to get to town?? Just because people drive fast by his driveway, well look around, they drive fast by all our driveways, its life!..What a crock!..Put the bridge in, where’s his head at???
Yes Bill, if you live in calaveras county and you can’t cross a dry creek bottom in your vehicle of choice you have bigger issues than a bridge…. That crossing is impassable perhaps two weeks at best out of the year….. I’m not bothered by the speed so much as the lack of visibility …. Its a blind hill and coming over a blind hill at 50mph barreling towards a driveway isn’t safe.
Its life what a crock?!?!? Get a better vehicle maybe a 4wd!!! Life ain’t always fair. I’ve seen the UPS man use that washout every day for the last twenty years… Where is your head at? Lose the bucket and get an appropriate vehicle for diamond xx life…
Well I agree with you on the vehicle Paul.. Maybe I better get a jeep to cross over there..seems the bridge will never get here..
